Verify Certification

Last Updated: 28th December 2025

The Home Staging Institute operates a formal verification system for all credentials issued under our certification programmes. Published verification standards ensure our credentials are enforceable, traceable, and protected from misuse.

Credential Issuance

The Home Staging Institute awards the Certified Staging Expert (CSE) designation only to individuals who have:

  • Completed all required coursework and practical assessments
  • Passed the certification examination with a minimum score of 70% (140/200 points)
  • Agreed to comply with the Home Staging Institute Code of Conduct and Certification Standards

Enrolment or partial completion does not result in certification. Credentials are issued only following successful, verified assessment.

Certified graduates receive:

  • An official certificate bearing their name, credential title, and issue date
  • A permanent certification record held by the Institute
  • Authorised digital badges for professional use

Certification Register

The Home Staging Institute maintains a secure, permanent register of all certifications issued.
Each record contains:

  • Full name of the credential holder
  • Credential title (Certified Staging Expert, CSE)
  • Date of issue
  • Current status: Active, Suspended, or Revoked

Records are retained indefinitely and updated immediately upon any change in status.

Third-Party Verification

Clients, employers, real estate professionals, and other third parties may request verification of any claimed Home Staging Institute credential.

To submit a verification request:

Email info@homestaginginstitute.com with the subject line “Certification Verification Request”

Include:

  • Full name of the individual
  • Your name, organisation, and purpose of the request

Verification confirms:

  • Whether a certification record exists
  • Current certification status

Responses are provided within three to five business days. Examination scores and assignment details are not disclosed.

Credential Misuse

The Home Staging Institute investigates all reports of fraudulent or misleading credential claims.

To report suspected misuse:

Email info@homestaginginstitute.com with the subject line “Credential Misuse Report”

Include the individual’s name, the claim being made, and any supporting evidence (website links, screenshots, marketing materials).

Enforcement actions may include:

  • Formal cease and desist notice
  • Public clarification of certification status
  • Credential revocation
  • Permanent disassociation from the Institute

The Institute reserves the right to take action to protect credential integrity and the interests of legitimately certified professionals.

Why Verification Matters

A credential without verification is an unenforceable claim. The Home Staging Institute publishes this process to ensure that:

  • Third parties can independently confirm any claimed credential
  • Certified professionals hold a credential with demonstrable, protected value
  • The home staging profession is represented by individuals who have met defined standards
